Support — Little Loupe
Getting Started
Little Loupe lives in your menu bar. Click the icon to open the color picker, or use the global shortcut ⌥ + C to start picking colors from anywhere on screen.
Common Questions
Screen recording permission
The magnified loupe picker needs screen recording permission to read the pixels under your cursor. macOS will prompt you the first time you use it. You can manage this in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.
Where are my colors stored?
All data is stored locally on your Mac in:
~/Library/Application Support/Loupe/
Nothing is sent to a server. Little Loupe never connects to the internet.
Color formats
Little Loupe supports 16 color formats including Hex, RGB, HSL, Swift UIColor, SwiftUI Color, CSS, Tailwind, RAL, and more. Click any format value to copy it to your clipboard.
Harmony palettes
Palettes are generated from a seed color using color theory. Choose from complementary, analogous, triadic, split-complementary, and other harmony types to build palettes that work together.
Contrast checker
The built-in contrast checker evaluates foreground/background pairs against WCAG guidelines so you can verify accessibility at a glance.
System Requirements
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later
- Apple silicon or Intel Mac
